F.A.M.A. is a foundation that is funded solely by voluntary contributions to provide an acceptable standard of life to abandoned animals while they are in our care. F.A.M.As policy is never to have a healthy animal put to sleep.

The idea of F.A.M.A. was originally conceived by Pat Coleman in the summer of 2003. In January 2004, a small group of like-minded individuals dedicated to the welfare of animals formed what is now the F.A.M.A. Committee .  Since then, F.A.M.A has successfully arranged the adoption of over 2,000 dogs.

We provide:

  • A clean and safe living environment
  • A regular and nutritional diet
  • Veterinary care when needed
  • Neutering, micro-chipping and vaccinations for all our animals
  • A service to match (via adoption) animals with suitable owners
  • A better awareness and understanding of the needs of domestic animals in society through visits to local schools etc.

For Adoption

We have a wide selection of dogs, ranging from pocket-sized pooches to gentle giants. They come in all shapes, colours and characters, but what they all have in common is a longing for a home of their own, for that special person to love and be loved…

To help you choose we have put the dogs into three categories based on size and weight – those that are small, medium and larger in size.

Large Dogs

Medium dogs

Small dogs

Drivers needed!

We are looking for more volunteers to help take our dogs to Málaga airport to catch flights to their new homes. We have a small van you can use and a parking permit that allows you to park right outside the departure point so it will only cost you your time. Occasionally some of the check in times are late in the evening or early in the morning so we are particularly keen to hear from anyone willing to help with these flight times. You can accompany an experienced volunteer who will show you how it works. If you would like to know more or get involved please contact Pat Coleman on +34 620 35 48 85 or email patriciamarycoleman@gmail.com. The more drivers we have to call on the more dogs we can help rehome. Thank you.

F.A.M.A. is constantly seeking volunteers who are willing to donate their time and energy to help the Foundation. There are a number of different ways an individual or organisation can volunteer… and it can be as often or infrequent as your commitments allow.

  • Help at the kennels – includes dog walking, feeding, cleaning, etc.
  • Organising / Helping out with fundraising
  • Fostering dogs that need some special TLC
  • Distribution of information / Donation tins, etc.
  • Airport runs
  • Vet runs
  • Boot sales
  • Coffee mornings
  • Auctions
  • Collection tins

We welcome everyone at our shelter, so if you can only spare time every now and again, are here on holiday or looking for a placement as part of your studies, please call Pat and she can discuss opportunities that suit you.
